Digital IXUS awards top
Filipino designers

THE most stylish camera deserves no less than the chicest accessory to go with it.
Digital IXUS, Canon’s line ultra-compact digital cameras, looked no further than the recent Philippine Fashion Design Competition to pick out the most creative individual to design the IXUS accessory that would complement its design aesthetics.
Gaining the rare privilege of designing an IXUS accessory for 2006 is accessory designer Alodia Cecilia Sales who awed the judges with "Anaconda," a sleek necklace and belt in one, made of Swarovski crystals, dark colored pearls, antique chains, silver, precious stones and reptile skin. Worn with a simple nude dress, Sales’ creation transformed the ensemble into an arresting work of art.
"The creation was beautiful, sleek, and arresting – the same qualities that IXUS represents," says Katrina Tioseco, Digital IXUS product manager. "We’re very excited to work together and create the first ever Filipino-designed IXUS accessory," Tioseco says.
In the continued effort to remain true to the IXUS commitment on unabashed style and performance, Canon recently launched the Digital IXUS i Zoom. Available in four designer colors – Cranberry Red, Jet Black, Sahara Blonde, and Ultra Violet – this five-megapixel wonder is certainly Manila’s latest must-have.
Incorporating Canon’s superior ultra-high refractive index aspherical (UA) lens that reduces color dispersion and the proprietary DIGIC II Imaging Processor, the Digital IXUS I Zoom boasts of unabashed beauty and power.
Digital IXUS further livened up the fashion design search by handing out the IXUS Color Trophy to the designer with the most colorful and vibrant design.
Roberto Angelo A. Estera, who was also one of the top ten finalists in the Apparel Category, went home with the award for his "Ang Saranggola ni Pepe" concept, a magnificent confluence of hues in an evening dress.
Estera and Sales will join the contingent of other Filipino designers in the prestigious Concourse International de Jeunes Creaturs de Mode (International Young Designers Fashion Contest) in Paris, France in 2006
